A part of the Los Verdes Arborists machinery infrastructure is a Woodmizer Portable Bandsaw Mill In certain situations, viable saw logs can be salvaged from tree removal operations.

Often, these logs are valuable hardwood varieties, which can be converted to furniture grade lumber. Sometimes when Pine or Fir is removed for construction it can be used in the buildings being constructed.

We have participated in several experimental salvage operations with the City of Reno to turn Cottonwood, Walnut, Elm, Maple and Sycamore logs into lumber.

We also set up our mill at the construction site of the Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village and turned trees that came from the site into lumber that was used in the new buildings. The buildings were later awarded platinum status by the U.S. Green Building Council, a status that has been given to only a few dozen buildings in the country.
